Multiple Sclerosis is a very hot topic for me. I know quite a few people who are affected by it and have seen just the tip of the intense discomfort that living with it brings. Most doctors and medical forums will tell you that there is little known about it and that some people are okay with it and some aren’t, it’s just the luck of the draw and use of drugs. The most common treatments that I have seen for M.S. deal with intravenous steroids (which have all sorts of crazy effects) and giving shots every day.
The Age of Pharmaceuticals
We live in an age of fear of the unknown and stress for the time that we don’t have. Pharmaceutical companies take advantage of this. When a drug manufacturer says we have a pill for that, it appeals to us because we know we don’t have to change anything about ourselves, we just have to take a pill and everything will be better. It isn’t better though, is it? It’s time to take our health into our own hands.
With m.s. you will consistently hear “I have my good days, and my bad days,” even while these drugs are supposed to be working. These drugs, by the way, inhibit your immune system so you will get all sorts of other complications brewing. This lead me to more natural research.
Multiple Sclerosis and Vegan on Huffington Post
There have been quite a few people that have shared about their m.s. symptoms being reduced and/or completely at bay by eating a whole foods plant based diet, primarily raw. Just recently one of these stories even went a little more mainstream.
Sandy Henson Corso has written about her experiences with m.s. and how she has been symptom free from eating a mostly raw vegan diet. Not only has she been able to get rid of her medications, she has been able to lose over 100 pounds, allowing her to run more.
If you have m.s. or know of anyone who has m.s. definitely pass this along.
