“Where Do I Start?”
A few of the people I’ve met recently have been asking for help and information on how to go veg so I decided to make this list for them and figured I may as well share it with all of you too!
Here are the people I follow that inspire me in my journey, the books and documentaries I’ve found most informative, and some awesomely helpful websites & apps. There are hundreds out there so find what works for you!
My best quick advice?
Start by simply adding more fresh, raw produce into your diet, little by little. Don’t get overwhelmed- just enjoy exploring.
Avoid judgement and dogma, both from your own critical mind and from others. A wise man once told me “there’s no ‘right or wrong’, only consequences of your actions.”
This is hardly ever a transition that happens overnight so have fun and be gentle with yourself as you become more aware of how your body feels and what it needs. Keep a journal of your thoughts and feelings.
It’s Not Just About Food
Remember that diet is important, but it’s just one part of taking care of yourself. Diet, exercise, stress reduction, and emotional healing are all important factors for health, so don’t get too obsessive over any one area.
Try to make leaps and bounds when you are inspired, and be patient if you backpedal when things feel more difficult. It will always come back around and be fun and exciting again soon.
Keep your desire to be healthy and happy in the forefront of your thoughts and it will guide all your decisions. Make it an absolute priority in your life and you will see results.
